Moonlight and Magnolias tells the story of how the script for Gone with the Wind was written. Three men lock themselves in an office to write the entire script in a few day’s time. The challenge of the set was to create a claustrophobic environment on a thrust stage. To this end, I employed curved deco inspired lines and warm colors to create a hot, enclosed space.

The concept for this production was to evoke the sense of old Hollywood glamor rather than a historical representation of David O Selznick's office in the 1930's. The end result was a masculine deco inspired office that combined the sweeping curves and horizontal lines of the art deco period with the lushness and richness of the Golden Age of Hollywood.
